TAKE A STAND. The IMC is on X58 Systems, as well as P55. You can post with Memory in only slots 3 and 5. So try one stick in only one of those slots. Also Check for bent CPU pins, what this also does is reseat the CPU and remounts the heat sink in case you have a bad mount. To me though, sounds like a dead slot.
